I have never posted anything like this before, and the idea of doing so terrifies me. But this isn’t about me, so I beg you to please read, and spread the word even if you can’t help otherwise. My family was recently evicted from our apartment. My mother had gotten married, and when her husband moved in with us, it exceeded the amount of people allowed to live in the apartment (we were previously unaware of this issue). We had to find a new place to live on very short notice, and the only place we found in time does not allow pets. (In fact, a surprising amount of places no longer allow pets.) This development does in general, but the landlord who owns the specific home we rent does not allow them. Hence why I am having to rehome my baby. She has been living temporarily with my boyfriend, but he can no longer keep her either. His family is currently going through many changes (divorce, people moving out or in, etc) and she is no longer welcome there by his family. I am once again facing an urgent re-homing situation. I have spent the time since moving trying to network through friends, family and acquaintances on Facebook, as I’ve avoided places like Craigslist, and didn’t know where else to turn. I am concerned about taking her to a general shelter, since she might not be considered adoptable in general? I am not sure. She has special needs. I’ve seen amazing things happen on Tumblr, so here goes.About my girl: Female cat, spayed, not-declawed, and litter-box trained. She was a rescue, found outside near her deceased mother in April 2006 on the side of a road. I took her in and have raised her since then. She has had health problems in the past. She seems to have skin irritation regularly, and has been biting/scratching at herself for years. Vets thought it was seasonal allergies, but nothing seemed to ease it. In 2009 she became very ill and stopped eating. After hundreds of dollars of tests, nothing was determined to be the cause. I believe it was only through sheer will that we nursed her back to health, force-feeding her special food from they vet when she was on the brink of death from starvation. She has not been the same, behaviorally, since. She seems to have anxiety when alone too long and becomes quite vocal. She also got fleas some time back, and we’ve been treating her with Advantage II (we had used Frontline Plus in years past, and it never seemed to work well), but the fleas persist. We also suspect she may have worms of some kind. She continues to bite her fur and scratch at herself, but it seems to have improved in recent months. We are hoping clearing up the flea issue is helping some. Our main concern, however, is that she does not like other animals. She’s lived with them in the past and been fine, but since her illness, her temperament/patience with other animals has worsened, and she no longer is willing to associate with new ones. Combine that with her anxiety and health issues, and it’s been pretty impossible to find an understanding and able home for her.Finances have continued to get difficult in recent years, and I haven’t been able to keep up on her vaccinations, so she is behind on those. As I said, she’s being treated for fleas, and she eats and drinks healthy. She’s very affectionate and needs attention, but most especially patience and someone able to care for her medical needs. I no longer can, and now with the living situation, I can no longer even provide her a home.I have raised this girl since she was a puff of fur. She’s now a beautiful cat, and despite her problems, she is the only thing I’ll ever have close to a child, and it is breaking my heart to go through this. She has been my heart for almost seven years. However, my priority is getting her safe and taken care of, so please, if you can help, I would appreciate contact as soon as possible. I am so worried for her, and want her to find a good forever home where she can enjoy the rest of her life, hopefully in better health, both physically and mentally.Location: Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Please feel free to PM me here on Tumblr for further info or contact info. Please signal boost as much as possible. She is in a fairly unsafe situation right now and I genuinely have no one locally who can take her. I cannot stress this enough.Thank you for your time and consideration.
So. Just us, or is Sleepy Hollow getting genuinely freaking terrifying?
